Hawaiian Electric plans to blanket the islands with smart meters — digital meters that replace dial electric meters and communicate wirelessly while emitting dangerous levels of wireless radiation. Smart meters cannot be shut-off or moved as they are permanently installed, typically mounted on the side of your home. These meters have been linked to spikes in billing, privacy invasion, security issues, grid vulnerability, deadly fires, and in-home surveillance. Serious health problems such as sleeplessness, heart palpitations, headaches, ringing in the ears, and dizziness have been reported; often these symptoms completely subside after smart meters have been removed. Long term wireless radiation exposure has been linked to various forms of cancer, DNA damage, dementia, breaching of the blood/brain barrier, heart problems and other serious health issues.
